SI UNIT (SI मात्रक)

SI मात्रकों को लिखते समय निम्न बातों पर ध्यान दिया जाना चाहिए-

१. मात्रकों के संकेतों को अंग्रेजी वर्णमाला के छोटे अक्षरों में लिखा जाता है । 

जैसे- मीटर के लिए m, किलोग्राम के लिए kg इत्यादि, किंतु  यदि मात्रक किसी वैज्ञानिक के नाम पर रखा गया है तो संकेत को बड़े अक्षर में लिखा जाता है । जैसे - एम्पियर के लिए A, केल्विन के लिए K इत्यादि ।

२. संकेतों को हमेशा एकवचन रूप में लिखा जाता है, बहुवचन रूप में नहीं ।

जैसे- हमें 10 m या 20 kg लिखना चाहिए, 10 ms या 20kgs नहीँ ।

३. मात्रकों के संकेतों के आगे कोई विराम चिह्न नहीं लगाया जाता है ।

जैसे- यदि किसी वस्तु की लंबाई 4 मीटर है तो उसे 4 m लिखा जाता है, 4m. नही ।

४. मात्रकों का पूरा नाम अंग्रेजी में लिखते  समय समस्त अक्षर छोटे होने चाहिए ।

जैसे- हमें लंबाई के लिए metre लिखना चाहिए, Metre नहीं। इसी तरह विधुत धारा का मात्रक ampere लिखना चाहिए, Ampere नहीं । 

The following points should be kept in mind while writing the SI units-

 1. The symbols of the units are written in small letters of the English alphabet.

For example, m for metre, kg for kilogram, etc., but if the unit is named after a scientist, then the sign is written in a capital letter. For example, A for Ampere, K for Kelvin etc.

 2. Signs are always written in the singular form, not in the plural form.

 For example, we should write 10 m or 20 kg, not 10 ms or 20 kgs.

 3. No punctuation marks are put before the symbols of the units.

 For example, if the length of an object is 4 metre, then it is written as 4 m, 4m. No .

 4. While writing the full name of the units in English, all the letters should be small.

For example, we should write metre for length, not Metre. Similarly, the unit of electric current should be written as ampere, not Ampere.
